Rowe - Where the air is clean, it's so quiet at night in the winter your ears hurt from listening so intently. The nights are completely dark except for the stars - millions of them. The smells are of nature, earthy, warm. The winters may be longer, the snow deeper, the house much colder but the trade is exhaust, the sound of cars, planes landing over your house and so much light pollution that you only see the major stars. I'll take Rowe any day and some day I will be there for good.

Pinto Beans
The photo is of some of the pinto beans I grew this year. The seed
was open pollinated and probably half of this crop will be used
for next years crop. There is nothing like sorting pounds of
